Alexi Lalas

Alexi Lalas, a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, serves as a lead studio and game analyst for FOX Sports, contributing to its coverage of international soccer, Major League Soccer, and U.S. Men's National Team matches. Lalas is recognized for his role as a defender on the U.S. Men's National Team during the 1994 World Cup and was also part of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team and the 1998 World Cup squad.

Lalas became the first American to play in Italy's Serie A with Padova before joining Major League Soccer in its inaugural season. He began his MLS career with the New England Revolution and later played for the MetroStars, Kansas City Wizards, and Los Angeles Galaxy. With LA Galaxy, Lalas won the Concacaf Champions Cup, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and MLS Cup.

After retiring, Lalas held executive roles as president and general manager with the San Jose Earthquakes, New York MetroStars, and LA Galaxy. He later joined ESPN as a lead studio analyst, providing coverage of FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships, and other international soccer events.

At the collegiate level, Lalas was a three-time captain at Rutgers, earning three All-America honors and helping the program achieve its first No. 1 ranking. He was named to multiple Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams and contributed to two Atlantic 10 Championships.

Lalas has contributed to FOX Sports' coverage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, England's FA Cup, Concacaf Gold Cup, UEFA European Championship Qualifiers, FIFA Women's World Cup, and Copa America. He also hosts the weekly podcast "Alexi Lalas' State of the Union."

Lalas is a member of the Rutgers Sports Hall of Fame and Rutgers Soccer's 75th All-Anniversary Team. As a broadcaster, he was the first soccer analyst nominated in the Outstanding Sports Personality category at the Sports Emmys.
