Alex Harbour

Alexandra Harbour is the founder and chair of the Venture Climate Alliance, a coalition of venture capital firms focused on accelerating the global transition to net zero emissions. Through the Venture Climate Alliance, Harbour has provided the venture capital industry with practitioner-developed tools, resources, and support, enabling general partners to address climate opportunities and manage risks associated with the global climate transition. Harbour has worked to bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and net zero commitments in public markets, fostering collaboration across the venture ecosystem to support decarbonization efforts.

Before founding the Venture Climate Alliance, Harbour served as principal at Prelude Ventures, a climate tech venture fund managing approximately $2 billion in investments targeting startups with potential to mitigate climate change. She was also a founding employee and investor at Powerhouse, where she led the inaugural climate venture fund and provided diligence and post-investment support for entrepreneurs in clean energy and electric mobility. Harbour has held board observer roles for various climate-related companies and has served as an advisor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the Clean Investment Monitor.

Harbour has been recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Energy and as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. She is a public speaker, appearing at conferences and in media interviews to advocate for climate finance and innovation, including features at the Milken Institute Global Conference and on the "Move the Money" interview series. Harbour holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA in economics with a minor in sustainable energy from Boston University.
