Alex Guerrero

Alex Guerrero is an Argentine alternative medicine practitioner and author known for promoting alkaline diet and wellness programs. He earned a master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine and opened a health treatment practice in 1996, eventually working with professional athletes. Guerrero gained widespread recognition for his association with NFL quarterback Tom Brady, serving as his “body coach” and collaborating with him on the TB12 performance and nutrition brand.

In 2004, Guerrero published In Balance for Life, which promoted the idea that maintaining proper pH balance in the body is key to overall health. He also marketed dietary supplements and wellness products through infomercials and health companies. In 2005, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission sanctioned Guerrero for falsely presenting himself as a doctor and making unsubstantiated claims that his supplements could cure serious illnesses. He was fined and permanently barred from marketing certain products or presenting them as disease treatments. Additional regulatory action later forced the closure of another supplement company he founded.

Despite controversy, Guerrero has continued working with professional athletes and influencing performance and recovery programs. He has collaborated with Brady on training methods, nutrition products, and wellness facilities, although his approaches and claims have been criticized by some medical professionals for lacking scientific evidence.
