Akash Chougule

Akash Chougule is a free-market policy advocate whose career spans grassroots advocacy, Capitol Hill, and the think tank sector. Chougule serves as president of the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity (FREOPP), a non-partisan, non-profit think tank focused on improving the lives of Americans in the lower half of the economic spectrum through freedom, innovation, and pluralism. FREOPP's research has contributed to policy changes such as reopening schools, reducing drug prices for seniors and taxpayers, expanding educational choice, and improving health care access for veterans.

Chougule's experience includes leadership roles at Americans for Prosperity, where he served as vice president of government affairs and director of policy, developing legislative strategies and advancing policies related to labor, health care, education, and tax reform. He also worked at Stand Together as vice president of the Economic Opportunity Initiative, supporting solutions to expand economic mobility. On Capitol Hill, Chougule was a professional staff member on the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce, focusing on labor relations, wage and hour, and trade policy, including work on the Protecting the Right to Organize Act and the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.

Chougule is a regular contributor on Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, C-SPAN, and NPR, and his writing appears in Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Post, and other major publications. He was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30" list for Law & Policy. Chougule holds a master's degree in legislative affairs from The George Washington University and a bachelor of arts in political science from Boston College.
