Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, is a visionary leader whose life’s work transcends industries, generations and borders. A trained lawyer, banker, investor and financial sector reformer, he is widely recognized as one of Africa’s most influential business figures. His influence extends far beyond the boardroom. With a deep commitment to service, integrity and long-term institution-building, he operates at the intersection of enterprise, philanthropy and purpose.

Aig-Imoukhuede has redefined what it means to build African enterprise at scale. His transformative leadership of Access Bank and continued stewardship of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group have helped shape Africa’s financial architecture. He co-founded the Tengen Family Office and chairs EnterpriseNGR, while playing pivotal roles in global institutions such as the World Trade Organization and the African Financial Industry Summit. He is a member of the Africa Advisory Board of The King’s Trust International as well as the President of the France-Nigeria Business Council. A champion of African financial markets growth, he is the Founding Chairman of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Financial Markets Dealers Quotation (FMDQ) Securities Exchange and a Past President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Council, where he led the successful demutualization of the Exchange in 2013. Aig-Imoukhuede channels the same strategic clarity into his role as Co-Founder and Chairman of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation. With a USD100 million family commitment, the Foundation supports national transformation through public sector reform, primary healthcare investment and leadership development. Its partnerships, including with Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government, have built an enviable pipeline of high- performing African public servants. In health, he has co-founded Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria, ABCHealth, and the Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund, aligning private sector capital with public health outcomes. A committed patron of the arts, he supports the restoration of heritage institutions in Lagos and Benin City, and as an inducted member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Member of the Tate Modern International Council, Aig-Imoukhuede collaborates with international institutions to elevate African culture globally.
