Aerin Lauder

Aerin Lauder is an American businesswoman, creative director, and luxury lifestyle entrepreneur with a career spanning beauty, design, and culture. The granddaughter of Estée Lauder and Joseph Lauder, cofounders of Estée Lauder Companies, Lauder has developed a modern creative vision while building on her family’s legacy. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication and began her career with Estée Lauder Companies as a member of the Prescriptives marketing team, later holding roles in product development, advertising, and creative, including creative director. In this capacity, Lauder shaped the Estée Lauder brand’s image globally for two decades.

Lauder launched her eponymous brand, AERIN, a luxury lifestyle brand inspired by her philosophy that beauty and home should coexist for the modern consumer. While developing AERIN, she maintained her role as style and image director for Estée Lauder Companies. AERIN offers curated collections in beauty, fashion accessories, and home décor, and has expanded its reach through collaborations with retailers such as Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn Kids, and Pottery Barn Teen.

Lauder is also an author, with books including "Beauty at Home," "Aspen Style," "Palm Beach," "Living with Flowers," and "Entertaining Beautifully." Her work provides insight into her approach to elegant living. She has been featured in major fashion and shelter magazines, including Vogue, Elle Decor, and Women’s Wear Daily. AERIN served as the lead sponsor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition "Charles James: Beyond Fashion."

In addition to her business activities, Lauder is active in cultural philanthropy. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Education Committee for the Board of Trustees at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the International Committee of the Museum of Modern Art. As a Met trustee and supporter of Neue Galerie, she contributed to the agreement merging Neue Galerie, a museum dedicated to early 20th-century German and Austrian art, with The Met. Lauder’s work bridges commerce, creativity, and cultural stewardship, positioning her as a prominent figure in luxury, design, and lifestyle industries.
