Aerin Frankel

Aerin Frankel established a formidable career as a goaltender at Northeastern University. Setting program records for save percentage, wins, shutouts, and goals-against average, she led the Huskies to the NCAA championship game in 2021. Frankel's accomplishments were recognized with the Patty Kazmaier Award and the Bob Allen Women's Player of the Year award in the same year, marking her as the top player in women's college hockey. Her prowess continued as she won the inaugural WHCA National Goalie of the Year award in 2021 and repeated the feat in 2022.

Following her college career, Frankel joined the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), making her mark as the goaltender for the Boston Fleet. In the league's inaugural season, she led the team to the Walter Cup Finals, setting playoff records with an astounding 57 saves in a single triple-overtime victory. Her performance didn't go unnoticed—she earned a spot as a PWHL Second Team All-Star in 2024 and was a finalist for PWHL Goaltender of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. She also made history as the first goaltender in PWHL to record 1,000 saves.

Frankel's international career has seen her represent the United States women's national ice hockey team, earning gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 2023 and 2025, and a silver in 2024. In 2023, she became the first U.S. women's goaltender to start five consecutive games at an Olympics or World Championship in 26 years. Furthermore, Frankel demonstrated her exceptional skills during the 2026 Winter Olympics, where she became the first American goaltender to record a shutout against Canada, and won the gold medal.
