Adam Shankman

Adam Shankman is a film director, producer, writer, dancer, author, actor, and choreographer. He has choreographed countless films and directed several renowned films, including "A Walk to Remember," "Bringing Down the House," "The Pacifier," "Hairspray," "Rock of Ages," "Disenchanted," and "Hocus Pocus 2". He also sat as a regular judge on seasons 6–7 of "So You Think You Can Dance". His film starring RuPaul, "Stop! That! Train!" will be released in 2026. In addition to directing, Shankman co-owns Offspring Entertainment, a company that produces films and television for various studios and networks. He has also directed commercial campaigns for companies like Macy's, Marshalls, and Schick, and numerous primetime television pilots and shows, such as "Being Mary Jane," "Glee," "AJ and the Queen," "Step Up: High Water," and "Modern Family".

Shankman's versatility extends to the literary world as well, co-writing young adult novels for Simon & Schuster imprint Atheneum Books for Young Readers. His work in television is also notable, having directed the pilot for "Step Up," a teen drama series produced by Lionsgate Television and YouTube Red. Shankman served as a producer for the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, which received a record 12 Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Shankman's work in the community extends beyond his professional career. He is a staunch supporter of various charitable causes and serves on the board of The Trevor Project and co-founded the DizzyFeet Foundation in 2009 to support dance education in the U.S. Shankman has also made noteworthy contributions to animated films like "Antz" and provided physical comedy consulting for "Inspector Gadget".
