Aarti Mann

Aarti Mann (born Aarti Majumdar) is an American actress of Indian Bengali Hindu ancestry. She is known for her work in television and film, including her breakout role as Priya Koothrappali on the CBS comedy “The Big Bang Theory.” She has continued to build a diverse career across scripted series and feature films, gaining notice for her versatility and engaging screen presence.

She attended Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel and earned a degree in film writing and directing from New York University. Inspired by her sister, filmmaker Kruti Majumdar, she pursued acting and soon began appearing in commercials, independent films and guest roles on television.

Mann’s first substantial television exposure came with a guest appearance on the NBC series “Heroes,” and her profile grew significantly with the recurring role of Priya on “The Big Bang Theory” (2010–2011). She has since appeared in episodes of series including “Suits,” “Scandal,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Never Have I Ever” and “All Rise,” demonstrating range across comedy and drama.

In recent years, Mann has been part of the main cast of the Netflix spy‑adventure series “The Recruit,” portraying CIA lawyer Violet Ebner in the show’s first season and with a second season in production. She also appeared in the 2023 film “The Donor Party.”

Her film work includes roles in “Today’s Special,” “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” “Danny Collins,” “Love Sonia” and “Sharon 1.2.3.” Mann’s performances are marked by an ability to bring depth and nuance to both comedic and dramatic roles, maintaining a steady presence in both television and film.
