Aaron Watson

Aaron Watson is an independent country singer-songwriter known for building a successful career outside the traditional music industry system. Hailing from Amarillo, Texas, Watson began writing songs in high school and later performed in college before forming a band and developing a dedicated grassroots fanbase. Choosing independence over major-label contracts, he became the first independent male country artist to debut an album at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart with “Underdog,” a milestone recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Watson’s earlier album “Real Good Time” reached the Top 10 on the Country Billboard chart, helping establish his reputation as a trailblazer for independent artists. His music has generated hundreds of millions of streams, and he has shared stages with country legends including Willie Nelson and Alan Jackson. Beyond music, Watson has supported numerous charitable causes, raising significant funds for community organizations.

In recent years, Watson has been working on two major projects. The first is “Cover Girl,” a collection of cover songs celebrating influential female country artists and inspired by conversations with his daughter, Jolee Kate, about the power of owning one’s voice. The second is a 2024 album of original material that Watson has described as his most ambitious and daring work to date, saying, “My goal is to put out the best country album in all of country music in 2024.”
