Aaron Kirchfeld, a London-based Executive Editor for Global Deals, helps oversee almost 20 journalists around the world covering mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, private equity and activism. A Portland State University graduate of political science and German, he has been with Bloomberg News since March 2006, where he covered European banks including Deutsche Bank during the financial crisis in Frankfurt before moving to London in 2012 to cover European M&A and then global deals in 2017. Kirchfeld started his career in Portland, Oregon, as a reporter at the university newspaper The Daily Vanguard before moving to Frankfurt to cover politics, business and sports at F.A.Z. Weekly, the English version of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that appeared in the International Herald Tribune. Kirchfeld was born in 1979 in Portland, Oregon.
