Aaron "Ronnie" Chatterji

Aaron "Ronnie" Chatterji is a notable figure in the fields of business and public policy. He holds the position of Mark Burgess & Lisa Benson-Burgess Distinguished Professor at Duke's Fuqua School of Business. His scholarship in entrepreneurship earned him the Kauffman Prize Medal in 2017. He has also co-authored the book "Can Business Save the Earth" with Michael Lenox, and authored "The Role of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Economic Growth," published by the University of Chicago Press in February 2022. These works have contributed to his recognition as one of the "Best 40 B-School Profs Under the Age of 40" by Poets&Quants.

Chatterji's expertise extends into the political arena as well. He served as the acting deputy director of the National Economic Council and the White House Coordinator for CHIPS Implementation during the Biden administration from September 2022 until August 2023. In 2024, Chatterji was appointed as the first Chief Economist of OpenAI, where he leads research on the economic impact of artificial intelligence.
