A Thousand Horses, an American country music band, was established in 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee. The band's first single, "Smoke," topped the Country Airplay chart, establishing their presence in the music industry. Their debut album, "Southernality," was introduced to the public on June 9, 2015, by Republic Nashville. This was followed by a performance at the Austin City Limits festival in 2014, where they were noticed by Rolling Stone for their vibrant energy and stage presence. Their track "Suicide Eyes" was also integrated into the movie "Footloose."
In 2017, A Thousand Horses delivered a deluxe EP titled "Bridges" in collaboration with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. However, the band faced a shift when Zach Brown, a former member, departed in 2023. Despite this, they have continued to create music, with their latest album, "The Outside," scheduled for release in 2024 on Highway Sound Records. Their music, a blend of English rock, country, American rock, soul, and blues, has drawn comparisons to bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, the Black Crowes, and the Rolling Stones. This eclectic mix contributed to their recognition as the "Best Up-and-Comer" at Austin City Limits 2014 by Rolling Stone.
