On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, nearly 40 employees, family, friends, and pets supported the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk at PNC Arena in Raleigh. Joining thousands of walkers and supporters of the local organization, this is the first time the company has participated in the Heart Walk through the AAE Cares program.

Team AAE Speakers raised $4,462.36 for this year’s Heart Walk, contributing to the more than $1.8M raised in the Triangle area this year for this event. All money raised locally goes directly back into the community for life-saving community education efforts.

“In a community like ours, we see a lot of metrics about growth and economic impacts,” said Jasmine Carter, co-chair of AAE Cares. “To me, the difference between a community and just a place to live is people being willing to do something selfless for the people around them. I’m glad we could play a small part in supporting the Triangle community.”

AAE Cares is the company’s charitable and employee-driven program that has supported programs including the Eastern & Central North Carolina Food Bank, the Durham Children’s Initiative, WakeEd Partnership’s Tools4Schools, and Animal Protection Services in Durham.

The AAE Cares program will next host The Blood Connection for their 2nd annual blood drive on October 31st in Durham at the company’s offices. This event is open to the public and registration is recommended. Register for the Oct. 31st blood drive here.
