Mandi Norwood is an award-winning Editor-in-Chief of women's magazines, publishing visionary, successful author, and branding specialist with an impressive range of publications (including Company, Cosmopolitan U.K., Mademoiselle, and SHOP Etc.) under her Gucci belt. As the public craze for the fashion and style of First Lady Michelle Obama hit a fever pitch, Norwood has become the go-to First Lady fashion expert, having been featured in Access Hollywood, the Associated Press, the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Times, to name a few. Her book, Michelle Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion (Avon/HarperCollins), captures the future First Lady's distinctive style, offers an A to Z Mrs. O fashion guide to all of her favorite designers and accessories, and insights on everything from where Mrs. Obama loves to shop (hint; Target, H&M...) to what she wears when she's not in the spotlight.

An expert at understanding and communicating with women on subjects from fashion and style to finance and relationships, Norwood has received awards from the British Society of Magazine Editors and The Periodical Publications Association and has been included amongst royalty, aristocracy, and world-leaders in Who's Who in Media and Who's Who in the World since 1999. Her enormous magazine success and numerous TV appearances in the U.K. branded her as the voice of young women. In fact, Britain's then Prime Minister Tony Blair included her in his policy-making circles in the early years of his leadership, as an adviser on a range of subjects from teenage pregnancy prevention to advertising to young women on the dangers of smoking.

In the U.S., she has made numerous TV appearances on CBS, ABC's The View, Good Day LA, The Queen Latifa Show as an authority on social trends and style, and was honored with an invitation to the White House with a select group of influential magazine editors to discuss women's issues and emerging attitudes to all aspects of politics and government with then First Lady Laura Bush. A sought after keynote speaker, Norwood has spoken at the Department of Commerce, Virginia's Annual Businesswomen's Luncheon, Periodical Publishers Association Annual Conference, and for Mediabistro, to name a few.

Norwood is also the author of the successful Sex & the Married Girl, a gloves-off look at modern marriage. Its razor-sharp commentary, brutally honest interviews with 100 married women, and controversial subject matter (ranging from favorite sex positions to the secret stash of money many wives keep from their spouses), garnered global TV and newspaper coverage and earned the Evening Standard nomination as "Summer's hottest read." Her book How to Be Number One in Your Own World revealed her own secrets of success and provided advice on getting to the top of the ladder in work, love, and life.

After many years at the helms of top women's and fashion magazines, Norwood translated that experience as a branding consultant for two of America's biggest retailers - Limited Brands and American Eagle - where she has been instrumental in successfully launching and re-launching beauty (Bath and Body Works, Frederic Fekkai, Patricia Wexler) and apparel brands (Martin and Osa) in the retail industry's most competitive marketplaces.

Norwood's most recent magazine posts were at SHOP Etc and Mademoiselle. Harnessing her journalistic smarts, extensive women's magazine experience, and passion for beauty and style, Norwood founded SHOP Etc magazine (and shopetc.com) which she launched with the Hearst Corporation in 2004. With its unique, department-store-inspired architecture and ground-breaking content, combined with bold, beautiful layout and design, SHOP Etc achieved a circulation of almost 700,000 within two years and became a go-to resource for CBS, CNN, Full Frontal Fashion, and local TV channels. Prior to SHOP Etc, Norwood was Editor-in-Chief of Condé Nast's young women's magazine, Mademoiselle. She completely re-branded Mademoiselle to speak loudly and brightly to young women who had left college but had not yet started a family.

Originally from Manchester, England, Norwood began her journalistic career on local newspapers, before attending the London College of Fashion and graduating in Fashion Journalism. After honing her skills on numerous British young women's magazines (Look Now, More!, The Clothes Show magazine) and hot-footing it for big-circulation newspapers (the Daily Mirror, the Daily Mail, the Daily Star), Norwood became the Editor-in-Chief at 25 of the British monthly teen style bible, Looks magazine.

Just one year later, she graduated to her first big, mainstream title: Company Magazine, a publication aimed at 18-30 year old single women "in their freedom years". Her ability to identify what young women thought and felt propelled Company Magazine into the third best-selling young women's magazine in Great Britain within two years and made her a household name as the spokesperson on national radio and TV for the Girl Power generation.

Following that, Norwood spearheaded Cosmopolitan U.K. at the tender age of 30. Within this well-known brand, she injected her own style of wit and charm, and targeted young women with the precision of a heat-seeking missile, producing a monthly cocktail of news, sex and relationships, self-help, advice, and empowerment.

Norwood lives in New York City and East Hampton with her husband and two daughters.
