Jason Pyle Biography

Mr. Jason L. Pyle, MD, Ph.D. Co-founded Sapphire Energy, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Pyle Co-founded Epoc, Inc. and served as its Chief Technical Officer. He Co-founded Pria Diagnostics, LLC and served as its Chief Technical Officer and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Pyle has consistently succeeded in his research and lead the Pria Diagnostics research team. He has an extensive research experience, both as a lead contributor and as a manager. Dr. Pyle has established numerous corporate partnerships between small technical companies and some of the world's largest corporations. He has directly supervised and coordinated both business development and operational activities within large co-development partnerships. Dr. Pyle also served in finance, technical and manufacturing transactions in Singapore, Japan, and China. He started his academic career at University of Arizona. Dr. Pyle served as an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Vanderbilt University, where he developed cross-disciplinary programs of biological and engineering research. He serves as a Director of Sapphire Energy, Inc. and Pria Diagnostics, LLC. He published five papers in respected journals, including Science, and worked as research student for both the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Optical Science Center in Tucson, Arizona. At Stanford, Dr. Pyle published ten papers in respected journals, including Nature and Science. Dr. Pyle holds numerous pending and issued patents in the engineering and biological sciences and has worked in diverse cross-discipline areas such as nanofabrication, optical engineering, and structural biology. His post-doctoral research focused on the large-scale expression and control of neural proteins. He was awarded the Alzheimer Association's award for excellence in medicine and an National Institute of Health MSTP grant to work on a joint M.D. at Stanford University. Dr. Pyle was named Innovator of the Year 2006 by Frost and Sullivan. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Physiology and an M.D. from Stanford University. He holds a B.S. in optical engineering and Engineering Physics from University of Arizona.
