At the start of his career, he served the Indian Army as a commissioned officer for six eventful years in the 19th Battalion of the PUNJAB Regiment. He trained the Border Wing Home Guards in Rajasthan and received the Sainya Seva medal for meritorious Service in Jammu & Kashmir. A well known socialite running several successful businesses while constantly being in the media lime light, it is hard to believe that Vinod started his sparkling business enterprise with less than US $ 10.00 in 1995.
