Kevin Pokorny

Kevin Pokorny is the owner of Pokorny Consulting since 1991. He brings an extensive array of experiences to his consulting business. He has 30 years of experience working with EEO laws and sexual harassment as an investigator and trainer. His expertise in other subject matters include: Emotional Intelligence, workplace diversity and respect, behavioral-based interviewing, legal interviewing, critical thinking techniques and creativity, coaching, facilitating meetings, team dysfunctions, mindfulness practices for leaders, and healing presence for health care professionals. His client base includes financial and insurance companies, health and senior care, manufacturing, agriculture, law enforcement, small businesses, education, nonprofits, and government across the United States. Kevin has presented at numerous conferences on the subject matters previously listed.

Kevin recently established a partnership with the Consortium for Contemplative Leadership that teaches leadership skills and builds on the inner life of leaders. As a result, he brings a mindful approach to his consulting work.

Kevin is a professional facilitator. He has been a facilitator for public forums on education issues, citizen advisory groups, race relations, dialogue groups and at conferences as a small group moderator. Kevin also develops and facilitates strategic planning sessions for small businesses and non-profits.

Prior to owning his business, he was employed by the State of Iowa for twelve years as a civil rights investigator and management trainer.

Kevin's delivery style is personable, spirited and filled with real-life situations so that learning can be put into practice. Many participants comment about his self-deprecating humor, which characterizes Kevin's respectful manner in dealing with very sensitive subject areas.

His volunteer work includes being a board member and Vice President of the Des Moines West Side Chamber, and performs as a clown for public and private events as a member of the Korn Patch Klowns alley.
