Kevin P. Mohan

Kevin Mohan is a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School and a Senior Advisor at Summit Partners, a $15 billion venture capital and private equity firm. Kevin teaches the second year Negotiations class in the MBA program. Kevin serves as a board member for several private equity-backed companies, family businesses, and nonprofit entities.

Kevin began his career at the Harvard Management Company in 1986 where he invested endowment capital in venture capital and LBO funds and directly into private companies. He later worked for McKinsey & Company and joined Summit Partners in 1994. Kevin led over twenty investments for Summit, primarily in industrial and technology companies. He served as a General Partner and Managing Director for the firm for many years and recently transitioned to a Senior Advisor role. Summit focuses on profitable, growing companies. Kevin’s investments in industry-leading companies include Blue Ocean Software (help desk software), Focus Financial Partners (independent wealth management), Nomacorc (synthetic wine closures), PeopleAdmin (human resource software for colleges), and Triton Systems (automated teller machines).

Kevin also serves on the Board and Executive Committee for Boys Town, the national childcare services nonprofit, and the Foundation Board for City on a Hill, a public charter high school in Boston. Kevin graduated with honors from Harvard College, Harvard Law School, and Harvard Business School.
