Frank Luntz is one of the most honored communication professionals in America today. Time magazine named him one of the “50 most promising leaders aged 40 and under” and he is the “hottest pollster” in America according to the Boston Globe. Named one of the four “Top Research Minds” by Business Week, he was also the winner of the coveted Washington Post “Crystal Ball” award for being the most accurate pundit.
Luntz has written, supervised, and conducted more than 1,500 surveys, focus groups, and dial sessions in over two dozen countries and four continents over the past decade. From General Motors to Federal Express, Disney to American Express, and the entire soft drink and motion picture industry, as well as the US Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers and the Business Roundtable, Luntz has become the go-to consultant when Fortune 100 companies need communication and language guidance.
In the 2000 election cycle, Luntz conducted focus groups for MSNBC and CNBC. His reoccurring segments on MSNBC/CNBC, “100 Days and 1000 Voices” won the Emmy Award in 2001. He was both a primary and election night commentator for The News with Brian Williams on MSNBC in 2000 and Hardball in 2004. He was the first public opinion expert to predict the GOP’s demise in the 2006 congressional elections. He has conducted focus groups for The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The New Yorker, and US News & World Report.
He is the author of the acclaimed Words That Work: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear that delves into the art and science of language, examining how the choice of words can change the course of history. His latest book, What Americans Really Want…Really: The Truth About Our Hopes, Dreams, and Fears examines the five things Americans want the most, what they really want in their daily lives, in their jobs, from their government, for their families, and how understanding what Americans want allow businesses to thrive. Luntz offers a glimpse into the American psyche based on strong analytics that will challenge assumptions.
When not consulting, Luntz lectures extensively all over America. He was previously an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and has taught at Harvard and George Washington. An accomplished author, he has written op-ed pieces for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Financial Times, and The Washington Post.
Graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science, Luntz received his Doctorate in Politics at the age of 25 from Oxford University. He spoke for 24 straight hours as part of the Oxford Union Society’s Guinness World Book of Records debate and has been named a Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, the second youngest individual ever to receive this honor.
