Erin Carlson Biography
As Director of Yahoo! for Good, the company’s Social Responsibility department, Ms. Carlson is responsible for leading Yahoo!’s online environmental strategy and contributing to other strategic corporate social responsibility programs. Her primary focus is inspiring Yahoo!’s audience of over 600 million people to be more “green” in their daily lives through use of Yahoo! products. She oversees Yahoo! Green, the world’s #1 environmental destination on the Web, and leads the integration of green content into all of Yahoo!’s core products. She has also driven the creation of Yahoo! Earth Day sites since 2005. She rallied grassroots efforts by launching a Green Team of hundreds of employees across the globe. Ms. Carlson is an Aspen Institute Catto Fellow focused on global environmental leadership. Prior to joining Yahoo!, Ms. Carlson worked at Nike Inc. in Apparel Sustainability and at Business for Social Responsibility as Environment Program Manager. She began her career at the environmental engineering consulting firm Tetra Tech EM Inc. She holds a BA in Human Biology/Environmental Management from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
