Susan Pinkus has served as Director of the Los Angeles Times Poll since 1997. She started her career with the poll as a marketing research analyst in 1978, and has held numerous positions over the last 30 years. She has won numerous awards from the Times, and was part of the teams that won Pulitzer Prizes in 1983 and 1994. She has written several articles about polling, has appeared on major media outlets including CNN, NPR, PBS and BBC, and has served as a guest lecturer at universities and various other organizations throughout the country.
