Scott A. Hunt

Hunt also attended the University of London and Queen Mary College Faculty of Laws. He studied international law and arbitration under England's Justice to the International Court of Arbitration at The Hague. Hunt later studied classical Tibetan and Spanish, and completed numerous private courses in business and management.

After 22 years of Buddhist study, Hunt was given permission to teach Buddhism by His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, Supreme Head of the Nyingma Lineage, one of the four major divisions of Tibetan Buddhism. Hunt has received advanced instructions in the three major divisions of Buddhism (the Vajrayana, Mahayana, and Theravada traditions), covering the breadth of Buddhist teachings.

Hunt has written 14 feature articles in national magazines, dealing with issues of social justice and human rights. His article on the future of Buddhism in America appears in Tricycle magazine's fall 2001 issue. His book on peacemaking was released by HarperCollins in October 2002.

Hunt's book, The Future of Peace: On the Front Lines With the World's Great Peacemakers informs readers about the roots of violence in troubled regions around the world. It includes what the Dalai Lama, Jane Goodall, Aung San Suu Kyi, Oscar Arias, Hanan Ashrawi, John Hume, Maha Ghosananda, Betty Williams, Thich Quang Do and others say about the future of peace.
