Robert Fisher Biography
Robert Fisher is a nationally recognized, award winning broadcast journalist.
After receiving his diploma in Journalism from Algonquin College in Ottawa and working in radio for a number of years, he obtained his Master's Degree in Journalism at Ottawa's Carleton University.
For more than 20 years he has covered every major Ontario political story at the municipal, provincial and national levels for CBC Television's The National, CBC TV – Toronto, Global Television and, CBC Radio.
It was with Global that Fisher created, produced and hosted the widely respected program Focus Ontario – what the Globe and Mail called at the time "a must watch" for people inside and outside the world of politics. He was also the Ontario network's first Queen's Park Bureau Chief and, news anchor.
Fisher returned to public broadcasting as CBC Radio's afternoon news anchor. He can also be heard on Radio One's "Here & Now" program from Toronto. As well, his political expertise is often called on by other CBC radio programs and, by CBC Television's News Network.
Fisher has taught journalism law and ethics at Centennial College in Toronto, and radio and television news writing and, production at Ryerson University in Toronto.
