Peter Reckell

Peter Reckell changed the face of daytime with his creation of the character of Bo Brady, the motorcycling rebel on the daytime program Days Of Our Lives. His break-all-the-rules approach, complete with earring, tattoo and attitude, presented a daytime hero unlike anyone had ever imagined and the impact was immediate. Reckell was named the top actor by Soap Opera Digest for three consecutive years and voted Hottest Male Star. He also received a People's Choice nomination for the role he originated.

Reckell segued into prime time to portray Irish rogue Johnny Rourke on the hit series Knots Landing, and he and co-star Nicolette Sheridan were named "sexiest couple in a night-time series" by TV Guide. Reckell switched gears to play the president of a computer company in the comedy-drama Heavenly Road. He also starred in Broken Bridges, produced by Academy Award winner Rustam Ibraguimbekov.

Reckell is a committed environmentalist—bicycles, electric cars, conservation and recycling are a daily part of his life. His love of nature and concerns for the environment motivated him to build a solar-powered home and add a few extra solar panels so he can sell energy back to the utility company. Besides bicycling to work, Reckell enjoys throwing kicks at his martial arts instructor and practicing yoga.

Besides his success in television, Reckell also retains a passion for theater. He was trained at Boston Conservatory where he received a BFA in theater with a minor in music and dance. He put himself through school by working as a singing waiter and later moved to New York City to further his career. He appeared in an off-Broadway production of Moonchildren and performed in the longest running musical of all time, The Fantasticks.

Some of Reckell's other theatrical accomplishments include Carousel, Pirates of Penzance, Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls, Love Letters and Death Trap. Drama-Logue said of his performance in the original production of Misconduct Allowed, "Reckell is almost too good to be true...tanned, fit, ridiculously attractive with an engagingly unruly forelock and a dazzling smile. Plus that, as an actor, he makes the right moves at the right times and can segue smoothly and believably from wry comedy to wrenching anguish".
