Nikki Haley

Nikki Haley is a politician, diplomat, and former 2024 Republican presidential candidate. She has served as governor of South Carolina, and as the 29th United States ambassador to the United Nations. Haley is notably the first Indian American to serve in a presidential cabinet and was the first woman to serve as governor of South Carolina.

As ambassador, Haley served as a member of the President’s Cabinet and on the National Security Council. In this role, she championed human rights and introduced reforms at the United Nations that made the organization more efficient, transparent, and accountable.

Haley was elected Governor of South Carolina in 2010, the youngest governor in the country and the first minority female governor in America. Reelected in 2014, she served as Governor until confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations in January of 2017. During her gubernatorial term, she strongly supported conservative values, and under her leadership, South Carolina’s unemployment rate hit a 15-year low. She also ushered in the state's largest education reform in decades, making education funding more equitable for schools in the state's poorest communities, prioritizing reading in early grades, and equipping classrooms with the latest technology.

After her tenure as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Haley founded the Stand for America PAC (SFA PAC) to support principled conservative candidates. The SFA PAC is committed to protecting America's founding principles like freedom, opportunity, and religious liberty and opposing liberal policies and socialism. Haley actively campaigned for conservative candidates during the 2020 election cycle and continues her political involvement through the SFA PAC.

In 2024, after ending her presidential campaign, Haley announced that she is joining the Hudson Institute, a conservative foreign policy think tank, as their Walter P. Stern chair, a role in which she aims to further her foreign policy objectives by guiding other policymakers in defending the principles that make America the greatest country in the world.
