Born in Algeria, Louerrad stood out academically from the very beginning, despite the turbulent context of the “Black Decade” of the 1990s.

She graduated top of her class in Microbiology from the University of Science and Technology in Algiers, and went on to earn a Graduate Diploma in Management from the International Institute of Management in Algiers. She then pursued a master’s degree in Microbiology at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1, again finishing first in her cohort. From the outset, she built a strong foundation at the crossroads of science and management.

Her professional career began in research, focusing on molecular virology, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals at leading institutions and organizations such as the Pasteur Institute, the Saidal Group, and Schering-Plough.

This immersion in biomedical innovation gave her a solid grounding: a deep understanding of life sciences and a drive to contribute to the advancement of human health.

Soon after, she chose to apply her scientific expertise within the medical industry. At Macopharma, between 2002 and 2006, she led sales, marketing, and product development for medical devices, both in France and internationally.

Drawn to concrete results and direct impact, she discovered the powerful connection between product innovation and real-world needs.

In 2006, she joined HORIBA Medical, where she spent nearly a decade climbing the ranks from International Product Manager to Project Manager, Business Unit Manager, and eventually, Export Zone Manager overseeing 30 countries across Europe and North Africa. Louerrad managed the global development and launch of new in vitro diagnostic systems, crafted international commercial strategies, and coordinated cross-functional teams spanning R&D, regulatory, legal, manufacturing, logistics, marketing, and technical services.

As a leader, she champions creativity and is unafraid to challenge established methods in pursuit of agility and performance. A strategic thinker, Louerrad anticipates change, innovates boldly, and inspires her teams through a clear and unifying vision.

Over the years, her role evolved into that of a bridge-builder, connecting market needs with project team execution, guiding the successful global rollout of pioneering products with strong and decisive leadership.
