Mark Holden

Mark Holden was appointed Worldwide Strategy and Planning Director of PHD in 2010 and is responsible for driving the growing network’s strategic planning capabilities across all regions. In 2013, he created Source, the agency’s global online planning system and has co-written all of PHD’s books to date; 2014, Fluid, 2016, Overthrow, Game Change and Sentience: The Coming AI Revolution and the Implications for Marketing. Mark has been named as one of the top media planners both in the UK and the Asia Pacific region by Campaign and Campaign Asia respectively. He has been personally nominated for numerous industry effectiveness awards and is an active commentator within industry.

Mark is the Worldwide Strategy & Planning Director for PHD WW. He has returned to the UK from Australia where he moved to in 2007 to set up PHD Australia. He is the author of 2016: Beyond the Horizon, 2014: Future of the Media Agency, Fluid: Harnessing The Rising Speed of Influence, and co-author of Overthrow:10 Ways to Tell a Challenger Story, along with Adam Morgan of eatbigfish. He is also the co-creator of PHD’s innovative tools, including Source. He was the winner of Campaign’s Best Media Planner 2010 for Asia Pacific, to add to his numerous other awards that have been won throughout his PHD Career.
