Lonnie A. Saboor

He holds a M.B.A. in Finance and Management from Atlanta University. Mr. Saboor is listed in “Who’s Who” in the Southeast; Who’s Who Among Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs in Atlanta, Georgia; a recipient of the “Personalities of the South” Award; a recipient of the “Leadership Award” by Entrepreneur Magazine; and a 1990 graduate of the “Leadership Atlanta” program.

Manager of Small Business & Industrial Finance, Atlanta Development Authority (ADA) which serves as the City of Atlanta’s agent in implementing economic development/redevelopment initiatives, targeting reinvestment in downtown and inner city neighborhoods.

Mr. Saboor has provided financial leadership to several commercial projects in the City since joining ADA, including Underground Atlanta’s Minority tenant Program, and the renovation of Greenbriar Mall. As Manager of Small Business & Industrial Finance, he has provided financial assistance for over 500 businesses in the City of Atlanta representing over $200 million in public/private funds that resulted in the creation of over 5,000 new jobs in the City of Atlanta.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Saboor was a Management Consultant with the Georgia Department of Planning and Budget. Worked as Southern Regional Business Manager for the National of Islam, Consultant and Program Coordinator for the City of Macon’s Minority Business Assistance Program; and District Representative over eight (8) “Stop & Go” convenience stores in Metro Atlanta.

Mr. Saboor is founder and president of the Islamic Business Association; Chairman of the National Muslim Business Association; and prior Chairman of the Georgia Summit of African-American Business Organizations (GSAABO).

He is also the owner of L&J Success Publishing Co., a family-owned business. He recently developed business cassette tapes on “Organizing Your Life for Success”; “Getting Ready for Business”; and “Government Money Programs for Business.” Mr. Saboor published his first book on small business entitled “Getting Paid” (Common Sense Business Tactics).
