Lee’s comedy career started when he began writing the weekly humor column at the University of Virginia, which he did for four straight years. He then published a popular comedy book about college titled “Neither Sophisticated Nor Intelligent: A College Humorist’s Take On Life.” By the age of Twenty-Two he had been the opening act for several stars from “Saturday Night Live,” including Jimmy Fallon, Darrell Hammond, and Tracy Morgan.
