Lynne Lancaster and David Stillman speak and write about the generations in humorous, entertaining ways, and at the same time give sound, practical advice on how to bridge the gaps and build a productive and effective work force. While they give dozens of keynote presentations, workshops and training seminars individually every year, they also enjoy speaking together. Their Boomer/Xer camaraderie is contagious, and the passion and practicality they bring to the topic are memorable. The BridgeWorks team has served as generational experts for publications as diverse as American Demographics, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, HR Executive, Success, Training Magazine, The Washington Post, Ladies Home Journal, and TIME magazine. Together they penned a monthly business column, Generations, for the number one regional business publication in the country. DAVID STILLMAN Generation expert, speaker, and writer David Stillman is one of the rare Generation X keynoters on the speaking scene today. Recently named to the prestigious list of Forty Under 40 movers and shakers by the The Business Journal, David’s blend of honesty, irreverence, energy, and inspiration earn him the highest marks from corporate and association audiences alike. David’s interest in intergenerational communication was born when he was employed as creative director for the multimedia production firm, Integrated Strategies Inc. As he worked with clients like 3M, American Express, Lutheran Brotherhood, and Norwest Bank he concluded that communication strategies that hit hot buttons of one generation often missed the mark with another. Thus began his research on the events and influences that shaped the generations. David’s ensuing creative output earned him numerous accolades including medals at the NY Film Festival, the Houston Film Festival, and the much-coveted CLIO Award. Since then, David has translated his interest in diagnosing generational issues in corporate America into a successful speaking and writing career. His business collaboration with Lynne Lancaster continues, and they are in the process of researching their second and third books on generational topics. He is a sought-after media commentator who has been interviewed for TIME and Parents magazines, as well as on CNN, CNBC and the Today Show. David began his career with ABC television as an intern for Prime Time Live. He then embarked on a round-the-world trip that included stints as a roving reporter for CBS radio covering such events as the end of apartheid in South Africa and the fall of the former Soviet Union. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison with B.A. degrees in Communications and Sociology. In addition, he completed Mass Media in Britain, a Michigan State University program in conjunction with the British Broadcasting Company. LYNNE LANCASTER Lynne’s motivating, entertaining style enables her to take demographic demons out of the hands of statisticians and transform them into savvy strategies and practical applications that help individuals and organizations thrive in a multigenerational world. She is known for her business smarts, sense of humor, and ability to engage the full range of audiences. A classic Baby Boomer, Lynne’s speaking, research and writing were inspired by the struggles she witnessed as a communication consultant, where it became obvious that what persuades one generation is often a turn-off for another. Collaborating with her Generation X business partner David Stillman, she developed a philosophy for identifying an organization’s generational challenges and then crafting ingenious, tailored approaches to bridging the gaps. Lynne earned her stripes coaching executives on strategic communication issues. She founded her own management consulting firm, the Lancaster Consulting Group, and developed a stellar corporate clientele that included top executives from companies such as Coca-Cola, Fidelity Investments, Pillsbury, Principal Financial Group, and Ralston Purina. Her work with CEO-author Harvey Mackay resulted in five best-selling business books, including Swim with the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive, Pushing the Envelope All the Way to the Top, and Sharkproof. Lynne is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota where she has served as a Carlson School of Management adjunct faculty member. She has written articles on intergenerational issues for numerous publications and has been featured in American Demographics, Entrepreneur, Ladies Home Journal, Successful Meetings, The Futurist, and Training magazines.
