Kirsten Gum Biography
Kirsten Gum's fun-loving spirit and passion for extreme adventure have helped her build an unconventional career based in television, travel and now gourmet raw foods with Raw Trips.
Born in Alaska and raised on an apple orchard in Okanogan, Washington, Kirsten is a proud Pacific Northwest native. She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from the University of Washington, before launching her career as a news reporter in Jefferson City, Missouri. On-camera assignments followed as an anchor in Chattanooga, TN, Charlotte, NC and tackling the world of sports with Fox and ESPN specials. She covered the Tour de France three times, as well as the PBR World Championships, World Cup Skiing and a grueling off-road race in Africa. Kirsten hosted Travel Channels Kirsten Gum: Treasure Hunter, gaining a new fan base as she traveled the globe in search of jewels, fossils and precious relics.
Kirsten is currently based in Ecuador as she pursues her new mission to help others live a green, sustainable life and to eat local, unprocessed raw foods. She keeps active running, biking, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and surfing, infusing endless amounts of energy into every aspect of her life.
