Karin Rau Biography
Ms. Rau was introduced to the current position by the former Chancellor of Germany Mr. Helmut Kohl in 1993. Before this Ms. Rau headed the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Thuringia (city of Suhl) for 3 years. She is a permanent member of the Advisory Council on foreign investments to Ukraine and the Investors Council under the Government of Ukraine. Under Ms. Rau’s leadership, regular roundtable discussions and economic forums have been held with Ukrainian and German high officials. The German-Ukrainian working group on preparations for Euro 2012 was also established under Ms. Rau. In addition to business, Ms. Rau is also greatly involved with charities. She was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, in the II and III degrees.
