Jim B. Golden, president and CEO of Golden Opportunity, is an experienced and dynamic award winning public speaker, facilitator, professor, and entrepreneur, who has a combination of over 25 years of professional and academic experience in the areas of adult learning, communication and performance.
Jim is a member of Toastmasters International, where he has won several competitive speech contests, as well as club, area and district Toastmaster and President of the Year honors.
Golden Opportunity, Inc. is a Maryland Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Award winner and a Maryland/DC Minority Supplier Development Council "Supplier of the Year" Award winner.
Professor Golden is a teaching excellence award nominated faculty member, course chair, and faculty peer mentor in the Communications and Writing Department at University of Maryland University College (UMUC) where he teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online public speaking courses. In specific, he facilitates Oral Communication, Advanced Public Speaking, and Professional Presentation classes. He also serves on the Commencement Name Reading Team. Professor Golden has also received from UMUC, the deans recognition for outstanding student evaluations.
