Jean-Marie Ghislain Biography
Jean-Marie Ghislain was born in 1955 in Belgium. Following his graduation, he started working as a photographer shortly before moving into the field of environmental technology. In 2009, he decided to examine his fear of water by going on an "initiation journey." It was during this experience that he learned to dive and communicate with sharks. The encounter with these animals gave him the strength to overcome his fear, as he was pushed to his limits. Ever since, he has devoted himself entirely to the photography and protection of sharks, as well as, other endangered creatures of the underwater world.
His book "Touching Beauty" (Elisabeth Sandmann Verlag ) has been published in five countries since 2014 and has received numerous awards including the 2014 German Photo Book Prize in silver.
