Garry L. Earles

Garry L. Earles specializes in child & adolescent mental health conditions and the effect they have on classroom learning, either in regular public or private schools or in alternative settings. Garry Earles presents training workshops for educators and clinicians alike and is renown for insightful and inspirational talks to parent and community groups. His ability to present complex material through the use of analogies, allegories and metaphors in ways even the most experienced appreciate, is both informative and refreshing.

Garry daily faces his own co-morbid neuro-biological conditions (Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, OCD and Bipolar Disorder) and the emotional and behavioral challenges they engender. His relentless quest for answers to his own mental health mysteries generated an intimate understanding of the clinical nuances and resulted in his "straight from the horse's mouth" approach in his presentations and in his direct work with clients. His passion instills appreciation and acceptance for those similarly challenged and inspires and motivates all who hear him speak.

Garry L. Earles is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Black Belt Martial Artist and 19th Century American Historian. He earned his M.S.W. in Group & Family Methods from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and his M.A. in History from Fitchburg (Massachusetts) State College. Clinically, he has worked in various settings from out-patient clinics to home/community based programs to residential settings. His private practice focuses on children, adolescents and their families challenged by the various neuro-biological/developmental conditions and their disruptions. He consults with schools and community-based organizations.
