Gad Saad

The Gad Saad keynotes explore the biological characteristics and roots of human consumption. In particular, Sad uses evolutionary experiments that equate consumerism to innate human functions.

Saad is currently hold the Concordia University Research Chair in 'Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences and Darwinian Consumption' and a Professor of Marketing. Previous to this position, Saad was a visiting professor at Cornell University and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

In terms of his education, Saad received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computers Science and his Masters specialization in Marketing. In conjunction, he also earned his Master's in Management and his Ph.D. in Marketing and Cognitive Studies from Cornell University.

During his career, Saad authored multiple books including 'The Evolutionary Bases of Consumption' and 'The Consuming Instinct: What Juicy Burgers, Ferraris, Pornography, and Gift Giving Reveal about Human Nature.' Currently, Saad writers a blog at Psychology Today titled 'Homo Consumericus.'

As a result of his incredible teaching abilities, Saad was the recipient of the 'Distinguished Teaching Award' of the Faculty of Commerce and Administration and was named by Maclean's university reports as one of the "hot professors."
