Eve Torres

Eve Torres is an actress, model, and reigning WWE Divas Champion who began her career as a dancer and model while attending USC, where she graduated with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Torres moved to southern California and was the co-captain of the USC Fly Girls dance squad, creating much of their choreography, while also appearing in music videos and commercials. After college, Eve became a member of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers Spirit Dance Team for the 2006-2007 season.

Torres won the 2007 Diva Search and earned a contract with WWE, becoming a full-time wrestler in 2009. At the 2012 Night of Champions pay-per-view, Torres became the first Diva in history to win the WWE Divas Championship on three occasions.

She is trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is the spokeswoman and head instructor for the Gracie Women Empowered self-defense program. As a strong advocate for giving back to the community, much of her time is dedicated to the “Be A Star” program, where she educates thousands of kids around the nation about the negative effects of bullying, and the “Get R.E.A.L.” program, which encourages kids to live healthily and work hard to achieve their goals. Torres is also heavily involved in the Wrestlemania Reading Challenge, and every year she volunteers for “Tribute to the Troops,” a live special performance and morale visit for the U.S. troops both on home turf and overseas.

At the podium, Torres captivates audiences with her personal journey that lead her to become involved in the self-defense world. While traveling for the WWE, an incident on the road made her aware that although she wrestled on stage nightly, she was in no way prepared to physically defend herself in the real word. Now an accomplished Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Torres weaves examples of simple, very useful self-defense techniques into her presentation.

She believes that self-defense is more of a mindset than a physical act and it comes with us wherever we go. By educating and enabling the audience to identify signs of boundaries being crossed, she prepares them to detect a dangerous situation and remove themselves before physical self-defense becomes necessary. Torres’ eye opening insight will leave audiences feeling hope and a sense of empowering awareness.

In addition to her career with WWE, Torres has appeared on Show Me the Money, The Best Damn Sports Show Period, Sunset Tan, Deal or No Deal, Good Day LA, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, G4’s Attack of the Show, and The Soup. She recently appeared on the NBC celebrity reality competition series Stars Earn Stripes, winning the competition and earning over $100,000 for her charity. Additionally, Torres has appeared in numerous WWE videogames including THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, WWE ’12, and WWE ’13.
