Former host of the CNN informational/news program, Sonya Live for 8 years, Dr. Sonya Friedman was ABC talk radio's resident psychologist for 10 years, and a weekly columnist for the Detroit Free Press for 10 years.
A few of the numerous honors Dr. Sonya Friedman has received throughout her illustrious career include: The first annual Star Award by the American Women in Radio and Television, honoring a continued commitment to the issues and concerns of women an Emmy award for her TV program Sonya Cable's Ace award for CNN's Sonya Live and the American Psychological Association's Presidential Award for Friedman's outstanding contribution to the media.
Dr. Sonya Friedman's ability to translate her knowledge and training in psychology to everyday concerns and news events has made her one of the most recognized psychologists in the country.
In addition to her media work, Dr. Friedman has written several books which have put her on the New York Times best seller list. Dr. Sonya Friedman received her Master's degree in educational psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and continues her private clinical practice.
