Dr. Heidi Kraft

Heidi Squier Kraft holds a prominent position in the field of clinical psychology, with a particular focus on combat stress and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her journey began in the Navy where she served as a flight and clinical psychologist. Her commitment to her country saw her deployed to western Iraq for seven months, working with a Marine Corps surgical company. This first-hand experience provided her with invaluable insights into the field of combat stress.

After dedicating nine years to active duty, Kraft left the Navy in 2005 but has continued to serve her country in a different capacity. She now works as a consultant for the US Navy and Marine Corps' Combat Stress Control programs, providing essential care to active duty patients suffering from PTSD. Her extensive work in the field has made her a sought-after speaker on the topics of combat stress, stigma, and caring for the caregiver, reaching 50-60 audiences per year with her insights.

In addition to her speaking engagements and consulting work, Kraft is the author of the memoir "Rule Number Two: Lessons I Learned in a Combat Hospital", which further cements her authority and expertise on the subject of combat stress. She currently resides in San Diego with her husband and twins, continuing to contribute to the field of clinical psychology and support those in active service.
