Dovie Wesley Gray

She embraced the study of personality development and individual differences with a passion that led to her current career path. Dr. Gray has been an educator/counselor for the DeKalb County School System for over twenty years. She now speaks professionally. Dr. Gray formed Wesley Motivational Training Consultants, Inc., a practice that conducts seminars, workshops, and keynote speeches to schools, civic organizations, and corporations. As President & CEO of her own company, she incorporates humor in all of her presentations. Her passion for helping others is displayed in her sharing of personal stories. Dr. Gray is a cheerleader for teachers, and she encourages educators to remain in the profession. She has co-authored two books, Communicate Clearly, Confidently & Credibly and Success is a Journey. Professional affiliations include National Speakers Association, American School Counselors Association, as well as the state and local chapters. Educational background includes a B.A. Degree in English from the University of Arkansas/Pine Bluff; a M.A. Degree from Clark Atlanta University in Guidance and Counseling; an Ed.S. Degree from State University of West Georgia, and an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Sarasota.

Dr. Gray believes that in order to understand other people's struggles and successes, she must be transparent in sharing her own challenges. Some of those challenges were being accepted into graduate school, moving to Atlanta on a Trailsway Bus in 1974 with only one hundred dollars to her name, and having no place to live. Dr. Gray is an encourager, a motivator, and an inspirational leader. Dr. Gray is able to find humor in the worst situations, and she manages to survive by believing in herself. She has a delightful way in sharing her stories without showing her pain. Her optimistic attitude has assisted her in being an excellent teacher, a confident counselor, and now a professional speaker.
