Dennis C. Mahoney

Of the thirty dedicated years Dennis has spent in health care, over twenty of those years have been spent as a professional health care speaker and consultant.

Dennis enthusiastically entered the health care industry as a licensed respiratory therapist. He was blessed with the opportunities of being involved in a number of pioneer innovations in managing critical and emergency care patients. In the hospital setting, he quickly moved into leadership, management and teaching roles.

Very early in his career, Dennis was able to transfer his clinical and managerial experience towards founding a national training and consulting company specializing in critical care education and supervision skills. Dennis and his associates provided health and safety programs in numerous corporate and community organizations as well as educational and management training in health care organizations and agencies.

After completing his MPH from Boston University and completing a Kellogg fellowship in community oriented primary care (COPC), Dennis added a consulting component to his business and was responsible for writing over $800,000.00 in private and government contracts in community and preventive medicine.

Dennis has provided consulting services to large city and state health and education divisions, and statewide and national healthcare delivery organizations.

Dennis is a prolific writer and has written numerous manuals ands booklets. His latest book ““How to Manage and Promote a Profitable Health Care Speaking, Writing and Consulting Practice” will be available soon. Dennis is also an expert in behavioral change and currently completing a book on “How Women Can Effect Men’s Health”

Dennis initiated a unique “social marketing” model which still served as the basis of a number of research intervention programs for Harvard and Boston University’s Schools of Public Health.

Dennis is best known for his humorous and motivating style of speaking and has presented to thousands of audiences nationally. Dennis has performed stand up comedy in New York City, Boston, and Fort Myers Florida to mention a few and is always looking for a career challenge. He has mentored many health care professionals in successfully managing and promoting their own practices.

Dennis is currently the President-Elect of the New England Chapter of the National Speakers Association, Past President and past member of Harbor Health Services, member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Society of Public Health Educators, (SOPHE), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), American Public Health Association (APHA), and the National Board for Clinical Hypnotherapists (NBCCH).
