David L. Cunningham Jr.

David L. Cunningham, Jr. is President of Asia Pacific Division of FedEx, the world's largest express transportation

company.

In his role, which he assumed in November 1999, Mr. Cunningham heads up the world's fastest growing region; Asia Pacific, from its headquarters in Hong Kong. The Asia Pacific Division is sub divided into three geographic regions: North Pacific, based in Tokyo; Mid-Pacific, based in Hong Kong; and South Pacific, based in Singapore. Managing over 7,000 staff, he is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all corporate strategies and operations in one of the company's most dynamic operating divisions.

He is a strategist who recognized the economic potential in Asia Pacific and was instrumental in positioning and developing FedEx's Asian network and capital investments throughout the region.

Mr. Cunningham's focus of providing the best quality service underlies FedEx's tradition of excellence. With his strategic direction, FedEx aims to fulfill its vision of being the Asia's best company to work for, best service provider and best brand within the next five years. A core component of FedEx's worldwide strategy is the ongoing use of information technology that enables FedEx to provide an ever-increasing array of services for its customers.

Mr. Cunningham first joined FedEx in 1982. Since then, he has performed a variety of roles within the company spanning the US headquarters in Memphis and Asia Pacific. His appointment before his current role was as the Regional Vice President of FedEx in South Pacific, based in Singapore. He served in that role from 1996 until ascending to his present position in 1999.

Mr. Cunningham has a strong background in financial analysis. In 1989, he was appointed manager for international financial planning and control for the Asia Pacific region. In 1992, he assumed the role of Corporate Managing Director of Worldwide Financial Planning in the US and in 1994, Mr. Cunningham served as CFO-Vice President of Finance, Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Mr. Cunningham also serves on a number of boards throughout the Asia Pacific including the American Chamber of Commerce, the US ASEAN Business Council, the US China Business Council, the US ROC (Taiwan) Business Council, the US Thailand Business Council, the Malaysia Business Council and the Pacific Basin Economic Council.

David Cunningham Jr., is 40 and holds a Master's Degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science (Finance) from the University of Memphis.
