Charlotte Libov

Charlotte Libov was born with a hole in her heart, which nearly killed her. After undergoing urgent open-heart surgery, Libov is now an award-winning health author, professional speaker, TV health expert, and women's health advocate devoted to raising awareness to save women's lives.

Since becoming a health book author in 1993, she has written or co-written more than five books, including The Woman’s Heart Book, which was adapted by PBS for a documentary, and received a book award from the American Medical Writers Association. In 2017, Libov published The Cancer Survival Guide, which was named the top Self-Help book in 2017 by ASJA.

Before becoming a medical author and freelancer, she was a New York Times contributor and has written health articles for Ladies’ Home Journal, WebMD, Revolution Health, Neurology Now, and Arthritis Today. Libov has gone on to become an award-winning health writer for Newsmax Health.

She is also a professional speaker on women’s health issues and has appeared on many radio and television health shows, including NPR's Morning Edition, Today in New York, Fox News, CBS News, The Jim Bohannon Show, and many others.

Charlotte Libov's won a number of awards, including the Will Solimene Award of Excellence from the American Medical Writers Association, and the American Heart Association honored her for her volunteerism.

Libov has a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Oregon.

A nationally known speaker, Charlotte Libov presents her message at talks sponsored by such companies and organizations as Toyota, IBM, and Women in International Trade. She's spoken at many medical schools and hospitals across the country, including Duke University Medical School. Libov strives to raise awareness of women's health issues, and is the founder of National Women's Heart Health Day, observed each February 1.
