Chris Ruden Biography

Chris Ruden is a world record-holding powerlifter, internationally recognized keynote speaker, bestselling author, and disability inclusion advocate whose story of resilience has established him as a prominent voice in change management and overcoming adversity. He was born with a congenital birth defect, resulting in his left arm being shorter and not having a fully formed hand. Despite having only two fingers on his left hand and a shorter left arm, Ruden can deadlift over 675 pounds, earning recognition as a leading adaptive athlete. His journey led him to become a seven-time world-record-holding powerlifter and an advocate for disability rights. At age 19, Ruden was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a diagnosis he credits for launching his speaking career.

For much of his life, Ruden kept his disability hidden. After experiencing humiliation and being labeled as broken while hiding his disability for 17 years, he learned to turn obstacles into opportunities, breaking records, writing a bestselling book, and leading organizational change.
