Eugene Levy

Eugene Levy is a Canadian actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose career spans more than five decades in film and television. Levy began his career in Canadian television as a star of the sketch comedy show Second City TV (SCTV). Alongside John Candy, Catherine O'Hara, Rick Moranis, and Martin Short, he transitioned from theater to television in SCTV. Early in his career, Levy became known for his celebrity impersonations on SCTV, where he won two Emmy Awards for outstanding writing in a variety or music program.

Levy is a frequent collaborator with actor-director Christopher Guest, appearing in and co-writing four of Guest's films, beginning with "Waiting for Guffman." He gained recognition for his roles in mockumentaries directed by Guest, such as "Best in Show." Levy won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media for "A Mighty Wind" from the film of the same name, which he co-wrote. On the big screen, he is the only actor to have appeared in all seven "American Pie" films as Noah Levenstein. Levy has appeared in more than 60 motion pictures, eight of which have surpassed the $100 million mark at the box office.

Levy is known for co-creating, starring in, and executive producing the series "Schitt's Creek" alongside his son and co-star, Daniel Levy. The series features Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Johnny and Moira Rose, a couple who, after losing their fortune, rebuild their lives in the small town of Schitt's Creek. The show reached global audiences via Netflix and received nine Emmy Awards for its sixth season, setting records for the most awarded comedy series in a single year and the most wins for a comedy series in its final season. The series was the first comedy or drama to sweep all four acting categories, and Levy and his son were the first father-son pair to win Emmys in the same year.

Levy received his first Emmy Award for acting for his role as Johnny Rose on "Schitt's Creek," earning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. "Schitt's Creek" has received 21 Emmy nominations and has won at the SAG Awards, PGA Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and TCA Awards. In addition to his Emmy wins, Levy is a Member of the Order of Canada and a recipient of the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, a leading honor for excellence in the performing arts.

Following "Schitt's Creek," Levy starred in the travel show "The Reluctant Traveler" for Apple TV+, which highlights his humor and perspective. He also appeared in season four of "Only Murders in the Building." Levy and Dan Levy have hosted the Emmy Award ceremony. With a career defined by comedic versatility and a strong connection with audiences, Levy remains a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, known for his contributions to comedy, television, and film.
