Band from TV Biography

Band from TV is a celebrity charity cover band composed of actors from American television series. Originally formed by actor Greg Grunberg on drums for a special one-night performance, Band from TV developed into a platform for fundraising through music. Following a performance at House of Blues, Grunberg recognized the positive audience response and established the band to raise money for charitable causes. The group donates proceeds from performances and recordings to selected charities.

Band from TV features a roster of television actors, including Bonnie Somerville of "Cashmere Mafia" on vocals, James Denton of "Desperate Housewives" on guitar, Bob Guiney of "The Bachelor" on vocals, Jesse Spencer of "House" on violin, and Hugh Laurie of "House" on vocals and keyboards. Additional members have included Adrian Pasdar of "Heroes," as well as guest performers such as Hayden Panettiere from "Heroes," Zach Levi from "Chuck," and Jorge Garcia from "Lost." Each performer contributes both their public profile and musical ability to the group.

The Band From TV Global Charity Trust was established to provide funding for various charities and to support causes through music. Grunberg, whose oldest son has epilepsy, performs for the National Epilepsy Foundation, while other members support organizations such as The Conservation Fund and Save the Children. Hugh Laurie supports Save the Children, an organization with which he has family ties. The group donates all proceeds to charities including the Epilepsy Foundation, Save the Children, Art of Elysium, Donate Life, and CAPP.

Band from TV made its debut at the TV Guide afterparty for the 58th Primetime Emmy Awards and has performed at charity concerts and recorded studio albums. The group made a television talk show appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," which led to a significant increase in sales for "Hoggin' All the Covers," their CD/DVD featuring live performances of classic rock songs such as "Piece of My Heart," "Pink Cadillac," and "The Letter." Band from TV also contributed "You Can't Always Get What You Want" to the "House M.D." Original Television Soundtrack and released their own album, "Hoggin' All the Covers."

Band from TV has played corporate events, charity functions, and made numerous television appearances, including performances at NASCAR, Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, Netflix LIVE, the TV Guide Emmy Party, Mohegan Sun Casino, US Cellular Field, and "American Idol" (Gives Back Episode). The group has raised nearly $2 million for charitable causes, combining entertainment with philanthropy in the television and music industries.
