LuAn Mitchell-Halter

LuAn Mitchell-Halter is a Canadian entrepreneur and international business leader whose career spans industries including food processing, environmental enterprise, and corporate leadership. As an entrepreneur, corporate executive, author, motivational speaker, and philanthropist, Mitchell-Halter has built a diverse professional portfolio. She represented the City of Saskatoon in the Miss Canada Pageant before beginning her business career.

Mitchell-Halter's business experience began with her own salon, spa, and modeling school. As chair of the board of directors, she led Mitchell's Gourmet Foods from financial distress to becoming a leading value-added food processor in Canada. Following the passing of her husband Fred Mitchell, Mitchell-Halter assumed leadership of Mitchell's Gourmet Foods, guiding the company through a period of significant growth. She later sold her interest in the company to the Schneider Corporation and went on to serve as president and CEO of Save The Planet Holdings, further expanding her expertise in environmental business initiatives.

Mitchell-Halter has been recognized as Canada's number one female entrepreneur for three consecutive years by Chatelaine and Profit Magazines. She has also been honored annually by the Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World. McGill University of Montreal awarded Mitchell-Halter the McGill Management Achievement Award for her accomplishments in business and community service. Her book, "Leadership Lessons Learned by the Impossible Dreamer," explores her personal and professional experiences, focusing on resilience and leadership.

Mitchell-Halter serves on several boards, including The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World, Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government Women's Leadership Board, and University of Saskatchewan Institute of Agricultural, Rural and Environmental Health. She is committed to children's literacy and environmental awareness, having written children's stories and visited schools to give readings. Mitchell-Halter is a frequent motivational speaker and has appeared on the internationally recognized "Hour of Power" television broadcast as a guest of Rev. Robert Schuller. Her keynote presentations address topics such as entrepreneurship, empowerment, personal growth, and innovation, establishing her as a prominent voice in business leadership and women's empowerment.
