Neuroscientist, Psychologist & Science Communicator; Adjunct Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin; Author of "100 Days to a Younger Brain" and "Still Me: A Neuroscientist's Guide to Caring for Someone with Dementia"
Sabina Brennan Biography
Dr. Sabina Brennan (PhD, C.Psychol., PsSI) is a neuroscientist, chartered health psychologist, four-time Irish Times bestselling author, award-winning science communicator and thought leader on the human brain at work. Her mission is to help people understand how their brain works so they can better understand themselves, protect its health, harness its lifelong capacity for change and live and work at their best.
Dr. Brennan brings an original brain-based perspective to the future of work. Her framing of AI as a neuroplasticity event shifts the conversation from what AI can produce to what repeated use may strengthen or weaken in the person using it. Her work explores the Better Work, Weaker Worker Paradox, the performance-capability gap and the difference between borrowed performance and owned capability.
Brain health is the foundation running through all her work. Her keynotes help organizations adopt AI without outsourcing essential human thinking, bring people through major change, and sustain clear thinking and good decisions under pressure. Her foundational brain-health talk shows how everyday activities, attitudes and lifestyle choices can transform the brain people bring to work and protect the brain they will rely on for life.
Dr. Brennan is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Trinity College Dublin and a former Principal Investigator in E-Health at ADAPT, the world-leading Research Ireland Centre for AI-Driven Digital Content Technology. She previously directed a brain health and dementia research program at Trinity and is the author of "100 Days to a Younger Brain," "Beating Brain Fog," "The Neuroscience of Manifesting" and "Still Me." Host of the Super Brain Podcast, she brings scientific authority, warmth, humor and more than 20 years of speaking experience to every stage.

The Second Fire - AI and the Future of the Human Brain
How to gain the speed of AI without outsourcing the thinking your future depends on
The business problem. Your organization is investing in AI and encouraging adoption. But AI can improve the work while weakening the worker: output becomes faster and more polished while the person producing it may become less able to understand, judge, adapt or perform without assistance. This is the performance-capability gap. How can your team/s gain the benefits of AI without mistaking borrowed performance for owned capability?
Sabina's solution. Most AI talks ask what the technology can do. Dr. Sabina Brennan asks another urgent question: what might repeated AI use do to the human brain? Drawing on her original framing of AI as a neuroplasticity event and the parallel between humanity's first fire and today's 'second fire', she explains the Better Work, Weaker Worker Paradox: AI-assisted performance can mask declining human capability. Borrowed performance can be extremely useful; the danger lies in mistaking it for owned capability. Audiences learn when AI should assist thinking and when people need to think first, question outputs, verify what matters and retain ownership of decisions.
The transformation. From productivity-led AI adoption to intelligent use that improves performance while strengthening the understanding, judgment and independent capability of the people using it.
The organizational value. Better return on AI investment, more consistent adoption, stronger decisions and accountability, reduced risk from uncritical reliance, and a workforce made more capable by its tools
• not merely more dependent on them.
People leave ready to use AI deliberately, distinguish borrowed performance from owned capability, think first when learning or judgement matters, challenge and verify important outputs, and remain responsible for the final decision.

Your Brain Is Built for Change - The Neuroscience of Successful Adaptation
How to bring people with you when new systems, structures or ways of working cannot wait
The business problem. Major change is necessary, but uncertainty, old habits and resistance are slowing progress. Leaders need people to do more than understand the change: they need them to engage with it, adopt new behaviors and continue when the unfamiliar feels effortful.
Sabina's solution. Dr. Sabina Brennan explains the brain's change paradox: it has a lifelong capacity to change, yet it favors familiar patterns because they are efficient and feel safer. She translates the neuroscience of uncertainty, habits and neuroplasticity into practical ways to reduce threat, make new behavior easier, build useful patterns and help people persist beyond the uncomfortable early stage.
The transformation. From uncertainty, resistance or passive compliance to confident participation and lasting behavior change.
The organizational value. Less friction, stronger engagement, quicker adoption, a shorter performance dip and change that survives beyond the launch.
People leave ready to understand their own response to change, feel less threatened and more capable, and take manageable actions that help new ways of working become familiar and sustainable.
