Electronic Dance Music DJ & Production Duo; Known for Remixes for Rihanna & Imagine Dragons; Billboard Chart Artists
Lost Kings Biography
Lost Kings is an American DJ and production duo composed of Robert Abisi and Nick Shanholtz, based in Los Angeles. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and Baltimore, Maryland, respectively, Abisi and Shanholtz met through a mutual friend and formed Lost Kings, a name reflecting their shared experience of pursuing music careers in a new city. Shanholtz studied at Berklee College of Music and LA Recording School, bringing a strong musical foundation, while Abisi contributed his background as a DJ and performer. Their combined expertise has contributed to their recognition in the electronic dance music industry.
Lost Kings initially gained attention with a series of remixes that showcased their technical skills and pop sensibility. Their early unofficial remixes of tracks by Disclosure, The Killers, and Dirty South attracted attention, leading to official remix commissions for major-label artists including Imagine Dragons, Halsey, Vance Joy, Echosmith, Tori Kelly, and Rihanna. Billboard premiered their remix of Imagine Dragons' "I Bet My Life," highlighting their growing presence in the electronic music scene. This momentum led to a deal with Disruptor Records, an RCA Records imprint and Sony Music joint venture, solidifying their position in mainstream electronic music.
In addition to their remix work, Lost Kings have released a catalog of original music. Their debut EP, "The Bad," released through Spinnin' Records, entered Spotify's Global Viral Chart and accumulated millions of streams, followed by "The Good EP." Their single "Phone Down," featuring Emily Warren, reached the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Top 20. Subsequent collaborations include "Quit You" with Tinashe, "Look at Us Now" featuring Ally Brooke and A$AP Ferg, and "First Love" with Sabrina Carpenter. The duo continued to develop their sound with the EP "Lost Angeles" and "It's Not You, It's Me," which incorporated emo-pop elements and featured Mod Sun and Ty Dolla $ign.
Lost Kings have maintained a presence in live electronic music, performing at major festivals and venues across the United States and internationally, including EDC Las Vegas. Their "Daycation" and "Need for Speed" DJ mix series engage fans between releases. Singles such as "Here for You" featuring Kheela and the EP "What's the Move" reflect their ongoing evolution in electronic dance music. With a catalog that spans festival-driven tracks and pop-oriented productions, Lost Kings are recognized for their versatility and continued influence in the electronic music industry.
